Are You Sitting Comfortably? is the result of two Rebeccas, both with a borderline book obsession, chatting over DMs.

When Rebecca Lovatt and Rebecca Fletcher decided that there had to be others out there looking to explore what’s new in the book world as well as rediscovering classics or old favourites, they decided to share their book recommendations with a monthly blog and Instagram Live series. Are You Sitting Comfortably? is a series for book lovers which each month shares something new, something old and something a little bit different - a wildcard, if you like. All our monthly choices are shared on Rebecca Lovatt’s My English Country Cottage blog and then we invite you to join us @myenglishcountrycottage for our Instagram Live for lively book chat and an interview with an author or two.

We’ve chatted Family Sagas with award winning novelist, Charlotte Mendelson, investigated love with Conservations with Love author, Natasha Lunn, talked Landscapes with Costa Novel Award winning writer Claire Fuller as well as hosted a whole range of other fabulous guest authors including AJ Pearce and Beth Underdown. Rebecca Lovatt

Rebecca Lovatt is a country lifestyle content creator. She writes about country life in her 400 year old thatched cottage in the “middle of nowhere” (delivery drivers’ words) on Instagram and her own website covering country homes, interior styling, gardening, recipes, fashion and book reviews. She has also recently taken on the exciting role of interiors columnist for the beautiful new Preloved magazine.
Rebecca Fletcher

Rebecca Fletcher has spent most of her life with her head in a book. She regularly chairs author interviews and is resident host at The Yard Hampshire, indulging her love of books and getting to the nitty gritty of what inspires others to tell their stories. As a freelance writer , she was first commissioned to pen a column for Hampshire Life, Margot Tries the Good Life, about the ups and downs of country life six years ago. She’s had commissions from various publications including Hampshire Life, Country Living UK, County and Town House, Sunday Times digital edition and Period Living. She has also appeared on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio Solent.
